Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. in the television and film industry, she is known for her numerous nominations and awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and raised by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett's mother had split from her father when she was about five. She and her younger sister moved to St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was in high school when she watched James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and was aware that her goal of being an actor had been born. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) with a focus on African American study, and an advanced degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American studies) in 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the major characters in the action-adventure film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
